As an owner of two dogs, peanut butter dog treats are my favorite treats to make for my furry family. Peanut butter is easy to use in dog treat recipes and it's healthy, tasty and easy to find.
Peanut butter is great for dogs because it's so rich in protein. Plus, they love the taste!
Do you have a new puppy? Peanut butter works as a great puppy treat because it's soft on their baby teeth.
Bananas are a popular item in dog treats. The best kind are the over ripe bananas that are reaching the end of their shelf life. Instead of throwing them away, why not make use of them and use them in dog treats?

How to Make Banana and Peanut Butter Dog Bone Treats Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 over ripe banana
- 2 cups oat flour ( see my notes if you don't have oat flour)
- ⅓ cup dog safe peanut butter
- 2 to 3 tablespoons water
Supplies Needed:
- Food Processor, NutriBullet or Blender
- Bone shaped cookie cutters
- Silpat Mat or parchment paper
- Cookie sheet
- Cookie cooling rack
- Pastry Mat (optional)
Notes:
Oat Flour - If you do not have oat flour, you can grind quick oats in a food processor, blender or NutriBullet until a flour-like consistency.
Directions:
Add peanut butter and banana to the food processor, NutriBullet or Blender, mix until fully combined.
Add most of the oat flour to the mix. Save a few tablespoons to use for dusting the roller. Give it a good mix. Then add in water to moisten a little more.
Dump mixture into floured area. I like to use a pastry mat to dump my mixture. Should look like wet sand.
Press the mixture into a dough ball.
Lightly dust the rolling pin with flour and roll the dough out until it is about ¼ to ½ inch thick. Use the bone shaped cookie cutter to cut out dog cookies.
Place cookies on the baking sheet. I used a silicone mat on mine.
Bake in a preheated oven at 300 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes.
When done, the bottoms will be a light golden color and the cookies should be hard. Allow to cool before serving.
